As part of our ongoing VPS Cluster upgrades, we have identified a change in behaviour that requires the MTU on VirtIO network interfaces to be explicitly set to 1500.

During tonight's maintenance window, engineers will apply this MTU change to all VMs using VirtIO network interfaces.

This change is expected to cause a brief network interruption of approximately 3–5 seconds while the interface configuration is applied, after which traffic will resume normally.

Engineers will closely monitor the change throughout the maintenance.
